Mullins and Murphy in luck at Kilbeggan
The Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle saw a convincing winner in the Colm Murphy trained Spirit Tornado in the hands of Emmett Mullins.
Mullins who was prominent for most took up the lead at the last and kept on well on run-in to score by five and a half lengths.
Their victory was made easier when Catskill who was in front at the time crashed out at the second last.
Winning trainer Murphy said afterwards: “He has been a bit disappointing in the past and I’m delighted for the owners as Kilbeggan is their local track.”
“We will keep him in handicapping for the time being.”
