Dermot Weld recorded his seventh winner of the week when Muaanid made a winning debut in the seven-furlong maiden at Galway.
The Hamdan Al Maktoum colt produced a professional display on his first start to run out a convincing winner at 4/1.
Pat Smullen tracked the leaders before taking closer order approaching the turn.
The son of Kheleyf hit the front early in the straight and was always holding too many guns for King Of The Romans
The runner-up was niggled throughout and only got going in the straight, but was held in the closing stages by a length-and-a-quarter.
"It was a good workmanlike performance. He had the race won from a long way out," said Weld afterwards.
"He's green and a bit nervous. He'll come on from the race and learn a lot from it - he's a colt I like and I thought he would win.
"He's really come along in the last couple of weeks. He gets through the ground and is strong.
"I might look at a nursery for him and go forward from there."
Front-runner Nurpur was sent off 15/8 favourite but couldn't find anymore when headed by the eventual winner and had to settle for third.
