Ex-point to pointer Mt Leinster Gold competed a five-timer of consecutive wins at Wexford today as the Colin Bowe trained mare landed the opening Brendan Cullimore Electrical Novice Hurdle under jockey Barry O’Neill.
The daughter of Gold Well won three consecutive point to points in 2019 and 2020 and today maintained a two-race unbeaten record over hurdles, adding today's race to a previous Fairyhouse hurdles success in February.
Afterwards O'Neill, himself a four-time Champion Point to Point Jockey, stated “she’s progressing away. She had four runs in point-to-points and had a great grounding there.
“She jumped great and has done it nicely. She loves every bit of the three miles.
“Whatever she does over hurdles, fences will be her game.”
