At the fifth time of asking Taramansour got off the mark in first time blinkers in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Cork.
Chris Hayes rode this fellow, and he was following on from a four-timer at this venue this day last week.
Dropping back to ten furlongs after finishing second over a mile and a half at Fairyhouse last month, the victorious Dansili colt showed his stamina to defeat odds-on favourite Monument Valley by a neck.
The Aga Khan’s victor is trained by Dermot Weld.
"Mr Weld rang this morning and said he'd sharpen up a lot from his last run. He probably got outstayed by a classy horse in Fairyhouse and he told me to ride it like a piece of work,” revealed Hayes.
"The blinkers helped as well; I hadn't ridden him since before he ever ran last year and I thought he was a grand horse and he has more pace than I gave him credit for.
"The blinkers sharpened him as he's not un-genuine and is a grand straightforward horse. Options are open for him and I think he could come back two furlongs in trip if you wanted to.
"It's nice to ride a winner in these colours again, the previous time was last year."
