Moran doubles up on Gospel
Davy Moran capped a good day when Ghetto Gospel provided him with a double by running out a game winner of the concluding handicap at Navan.
The Ger Lyons-trained gelding was always to the fore and hit the front under two furongs from home.
He was strongly pressed by Mianach inside the final furong but stuck his neck out to record a three-parts success.
"The shower of rain probably came in time for him. It just took the sting out of it," said Lyons.
"Fair play to Niall McCullagh, who rode him last time at Dundalk. He was on a last chance then but Niall said he wanted further.
"He was very game and did it well. Hopefully there are a few more little handicaps in him.
It was the first winner on the turf this season for the handler and he said:- "We've redone the gallops and anything we had of note last season we sold.
"This season is all about the two-year-olds and they are not ready to run yet."
