Monksland who missed the Ten Up Novice Chase on Sunday with a temperature, with either run in the RSA at Cheltenham or the Ryanair Gold Cup at Fairyhouse next.
Noel Meade's charge had finished second to Outlander just eight days earlier in the Flogas Novice Chase but was due to reappear quickly.
However, Meade was not quite 100 per cent happy with him on the morning of the race and decided to keep him at home.
"He's essentially fine, his temperature was just up a little bit and we decided with the ground the way it was it wasn't worth the risk," Meade told At The Races.
"He only ran last week.
"You'll see him next in either the RSA at Cheltenham or what is now the Ryanair at Fairyhouse.
"The two races are close together so it will either be one or the other."
