Molloy steers Shamiran to Punchestown win
Jockey Bobby Molloy does very well from limited opportunities and the 3lb claimer partnered the Stephen Nolan trained Shamiran to defy top weight in the Tote Sports Lounge Novice Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown today.
Afterwards Kilcock, Co Kildare based based Nolan stated "Shamiran was second in the Amateur Derby behind Admiral Barry, which was an excellent run, but disappointed in the Cesarewitch on ground that was too fast for him."
"He loves heavy ground and is a big, strong type. We'll see what the handicapper does with him now but he may have one run before possibly going for a big handicap over Christmas, hopefully off a low weight!"
The win was under-used Molloy's second win of the season.
