Midnight scores for Weld/Smullen
Championship leader Pat Smullen was seen at his strongest when getting Midnight Music (6/1) up in the closing stages to land the juvenile auction maiden over a mile at Navan this afternoon.
Third on her debut at the Curragh in August, the daughter of Dubawi showed the benefit of that experience when coming between horses to beat Freedom by a neck, with Alayir just a short-head further back in third.
“She's a nice filly and had a good run at the Curragh. She battled well and it was a good, strong ride by Pat,” said trainer Dermot Weld.
