Code Of The West isn't the easiest ride in the world but 7Ib claimer Jody McGarvey has now got him home in front twice. The latest of these was in the Prior Park Service Service Station Handicap Chase at Clonmel today.
The other man that has registered a victory on the Great Palm gelding is Tony McCoy, that being at the Listowel Festival in 2011.
On this occasion, McGarvey came there from off the pace, travelling-well on the seven-year-old equipped with cheek-pieces, in the straight.
The successful 9/1 shot took over from the front-running Rubert two out. On the run-in Christy Roche's charge kept going well enough to account for the staying-on Hans Cresent by a length and three parts.
On behalf of winning owner, J P McManus, Frank Berry said: "He'll go for another one of those and it's nice to win another race with him." (TW & EM)
