McDonogh wins opener at Roscommon
The opening race this evening at Roscommon, the ‘Buy A Racing Post Yearling Bonus Candidate’ Auction Maiden was won by the Kevin Prendergast trained Rudi Valentino under Declan McDonogh.
McDonogh was always prominent on the Hawk Wing gelding, led from halfway, clear from over 2f out and kept on well to hold off the fast finishing Big In Japan under Shane Foley by 1 1/4 length.
