McCreery off the mark at The Curragh
The Willie McCreery trained Toasted Special won The Peter Keatley Curragh Equine Groundcare Handicap owned by The Iona Equine Syndicate and ridden by Michael Hussey.
Hussey raced his mount in behind the leaders, improved to challenge from over 1f out and stayed on well to lead close home holding off the fast finishing Harriers Call of John Hayden's.
Willie McCreery said afterwards, "We were surprised with the win, didn't think she'd handle the ground. Michael [Hussey] gave her a great ride."
