The second division of the Jetaway.ie @ Artic Tack Stud Handicap Hurdle wasn’t short on incident with victory going the way of Mattie’s Mountain (5/1 into 7/2 favourite) at Fairyhouse. You Say Nothing was looking a huge player, in a dispute of the lead, when falling two out.
Mattie’s Mountain under Gearoid Brouder, was chasing the leaders at the time, and he was impeded.
Soon in full flow though, the Eoin McCarthy-trained five-year-old, sixth on his return from a break, at Listowel in September, toughed it out best on the run-in.
Mattie’s Mountain got the better of Listenheretomejack by three parts of a length.
Unfortunately no connections returned to the number one spot. The horse was unsaddled on the course and taken straight to the veterinary unit.
