Paul Townend completed a 39/1 double after just two rides at Fairyhouse, with his mount, I Shot The Sheriff also bringing up a brace for trainer Tony Martin (on the mark with Dedigout thirty five minutes earlier) in the Boomerang Animal Bedding Handicap Hurdle.
Townend won the first for his boss, Willie Mullins, on Buiseness Sivola and here he comfortably led home a one, three for the Martin yard, as I Shot The Sheriff defeated Ttebbob and Mydor by three and a quarter lengths and a length and a half.
"He's a horse that has plenty of pace. I was saying after seven furlongs that I'd made a mistake and should have run him in the two-mile tomorrow," said Martin.
"I was a bit afraid as he was so strong and Paul did the right thing letting him mosey on. He came home well and it worked out well in the end.
"He won impressively and I'd say he's a good horse.
"The other fella (Mydor) ran a blinder. The trip to Kempton might have taken a bit out of him and I was delighted with him." (GC & EM)
