Marnane's good run continues
Dave Marnane continued his good run when Buaiteoir took Division Two of the Cuchulainn Crystal Handicap in the hands of Fran Berry.
Berry had the 6/1 shot in front over a furlong and a half out, the pair were briefly headed inside the final furlong.
The Mineshaft gelding responded well to a strong drive to get back up and lead close home and hold off Rambling Dancer and Shane Gorey by a short head.
Winning trainer Marnane said afterwards: “He has been knocking on the door and running well so it was great he got his head in front.”
“I hope to try and find something similar for him and we’ll stick to this surface, he seems to like the dirt and his pedigree says he’s a dirt horse.”
