Marinebird Takes Navan Opener
Marinebird gained the second win of an eighteen race career with an always prominent half a length success over favourite, Morrigan in the Navan Chairman Supporting Special Olympics Ireland Handicap.
Davy Moran rode the 14/1 daughter of Bad As I Wanna Be for Jarlath Fahey and he owns the five-year-old in partnership with Portarlington, Co. Laois man, Joseph Flanagan.
A delighted Fahey said: "She slipped down the ratings. We had a few niggling problems with her last year but the vets did a good job with her and we have her back now. Davy said she travelled well on the ground and hopefully she can win another one if the handicapper isn't too hard on her." (EM)
