My Manekineko followed-up on his win at Tramore earlier in the month as he took the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Hurdle under Jack Kennedy for James Nash and owner Ka Hon Tham.
Sent off the 9/2 favourite the son of Authorized was settled in mid-division and was fifth with a circuit to race.
He was third three out and came with his challenge before the last, staying on best under pressure on the run-in to reel in Golden Ticket with half a length separating them at the line.
The runner-up was returned an 11/2 chance under Ricky Doyle for Christy Roche while Wisty (14/1) was a further length and a half back in third under Shane Crimin for Edward Stanners.
James Nash said afterwards: "He seems to be improving and hurdles seems to have improved him. We might chance him back in a flat race but he will have a little break now."
STEWARDS REPORT
The Stewards interviewed R.A. Doyle, rider of Golden Ticket (AUS), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found R.A. Doyle in breach of Reg. 10 3.(g) by using his whip with the arm above shoulder height and having taken his record into account the Stewards cautioned him.
