Mama takes advantage of light-weight
Hoochie Mama looked to have a big chance off her light-weight in the Bet With The Tote Handicap Chase at Downpatrick and so it proved as she prevailed under Alan Crowe.
Owned and trained by John Coleman, the successful eight-year-old daughter of Even Top galloped on well enough from the back of the last to beat the keeping on at one-pace Knocklayde Euro
James Nash, representing Coleman, said: "Alan has ridden her for years and he said that she loved this place.
"She tends to get dis-interested in her races but she travelled really well today. She is well-handicapped but she doesn't have a lot of ability.
"We'll look for something similar with her now."
