Dohasa from the Ger Lyons stable justified favouritism after he came home in front of the Blackrock Race under Keagan Latham making it a double on the day for the jockey and a treble for the trainer.

The in-form Lyons said afterwards: “It’s great when they win especially if you expect them to win. He's a good solid horse who needed that and it’ll be good for his confidence.”

“It’s great that conditions fell into place for us on our favourite track. It looks as if the ground is gone for us everywhere else. This lad needs the top of the ground and he will probably be part of our Dubai team.”
