Poetic Light was dominant from the front to take the Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction Maiden (Plus 10 Race) at Bellewstown for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane.
On his third outing the favourite wasn't looking likely to be caught from some way out and he eventually crossed the line with a length and three parts to spare over Maunganui
The gambled-on Dragon Girl (6/1 into 7/2) was two and three parts of a length back in third.
Representing the stable Shane Lyons said: "He's still a very immature horse and shied away at the road. He was looking all around him going down to the start. He's definitely a horse for next year and needs to strengthen up and learn how to race.
"He's a nice horse at home but when he comes to the races it feels like he's having his first day out."
R.P. Whelan, rider of Maunganui trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right.
C. O'Donoghue, rider of Extrasensory trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost action.
