Luska Lad wins Grade 2 for Hanlon
The Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Grade 2 Novice Hurdle saw a great finish with John 'Shark' Hanlon's charge getting back up in closing stages under Davy Russell.
Russell was in front early aboard the Flemensfirth gelding, the pair were ridden along and headed by Ruby Walsh and Blackstairmountain at the second last.
The favourite battled well from the last to regain lead close home for a three parts of a length win over Blackstairmountain.
A delighted Hanlon reported: "We will now go for the Evening Herald Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown."
"He stays and he is very tough with the way he battled back there. I think he's an even better horse on better ground."
"We'll go to Punchestown but I also have it in my mind to bring him to France."
