The Belmont Handicap at Wexford tonight is just a 47 to 65 event but it has been the subject of much attention in the shops this morning. The Reek for the red-hot Pat Martin yard has been supported from a reported 5/2 into 4/6 with one leading firm. This filly will be ridden by Pat Smullen and she was runner-up to the subsequent winner, Go On Murt at Dundalk last time.
An intriguing punt here is on Pat Flynn's Al Mancilia This one is a handicap first-timer and she will now be equipped with a tongue-tie after three undistinguished goes in maiden company.
The daughter of Encosta De Lago has been very popular with one firm who have slashed her odds from 16/1 into 9/2.
Al Mancilia cost a mere 700 Euros at Goresbridge last July. (EM)
