Lizzie on the mark
The Willie McCreery trained Lizzie Bennett opened up her account over hurdles on the second time of asking when she ran out a two and a half length winner of the Valley Of Honey Maiden Hurdle under a patient ride by Barry Cash.
Cash made his progress to join the leaders entering the straight, the pair were in front at the last and kept on well for a cosy win over Capitoline Hill
Winning trainer McCreery said afterwards: “We schooled her the other day and she loved it. "
"She had run over hurdles at Punchestown and I think that really stood to her.”
“Barry [Cash] gave her a lovely patient ride, she doesn’t like to be in front too early.”
