Library out of Words, added black-print to her 'page' today, winning Naas' featured Listed Al Shira'aa Racing EBF Naas Oaks Trial for owners Coolmore, jockey Wayne Lordan and trainer Aidan O'Brien.
Library (5/1) had previously finished fourth in Cork's recent Munster Oaks but today reverted to the Listed aisle, chasing stablemate Lambada at a strong pace.
The Galileo-sired winner led early in the straight and while headed by Empress Of Beauty a furlong out, rallied for a head win and a first stakes success.
“The race presented itself at the time to get a bit of black-type” said stable representative Chris Armstrong.
“She ran well in Cork last time, dropping back in trip wasn't ideal but the race came up at the right time and it's great to get the black-type for her. Wayne said she's very genuine but once you hit the front she's not doing a stroke.
“She wants a solid tempo throughout and a step up in trip again. She'll either go for the Stanerra Stakes or the Irish Oaks and we'll try and keep her going up through the grades.”
