Billy Lee rode his second winner on this evening's card at Leopardstown on 4/1 favourite Ferrybank in the mile handicap for three-year-olds plus rated 47-75.
The six-year-old gelding broke well to race close to the pace which was set by Blackcastle Storm Ferrybank took over after a couple of furlongs and he travelled kindly rounding the home bend.
Lee sent him about his business a furlong and a-half out and Ferrybank soon had his rivals in trouble. He was ridden clear inside the final furlong and had more than enough in hand to hold the staying-on Rio Largo (9/2) by a length and a-quarter. Tokenomics (6/1) rounded out the placings at 6/1.
Ted Walsh said: “He won one day off 76 and he’s back up to 72 today, that’s his level.
“He likes Leopardstown and I shouldn’t have run him in the Curragh the last day. They get around him there and keep annoying him so that he’s nothing left.
“We’ve had a good bit of fun out of him and he’s paying his way.”
