Lambro completes Mullins double

Willie Mullins completed a double at Fairyhouse today when Lambro arrived late to win the Grade 2 NH Sires Novice Hurdle under the trainer’s nephew Emmet Mullins. Last Instalment went clear in the straight as Lambro, only sixth at the stage, hit a high of 65 in-running on Betfair. However Last Instalment failed to find much under pressure on the run-in, leaving Lambro to deny Mackeys Forge by a short head.

Afterwards Mullins stated “I really don’t know how good Lambro is and we put him in today hoping for but not expecting a win. He is an improving horse.”
