Colin Bowe's Lacken Bridge (14/1) was too strong for the favourite Just A Normal at the end of two miles in the concluding handicap chase on Gowran Park's card.
He was fourth at the penultimate fence and was soon ridden by Ricky Doyle to make progress.
The pair came with a run on the inner and grabbed a narrow lead at the last.
It was here that Davy Russell produced Just A Normal Day (9/4f) but they couldn't get the better of Lacken Bridge on the run-in and went down by three parts of a length.
There was a two and a quarter length gap back to Bellgrove in third at 6/1.
