Dundalk's Leading Trainer Michael Halford was on the mark again at the Co Louth venue this evening when his Lonan landed the Dundalk Stadium - Light Up Your Night Maiden.
Ridden by Halford's stable jockey Shane Foley, the son of Dubawi lost ground at the start having missed the break but was patiently ridden to get back into the race. The winner eventually edged ahead of 2/1f Zeftan in near the line for a neck win.
Halford was absent but Foley stated “he (Lonan) is still a big baby and will improve a lot. He knows more than he thinks he does!”
