Donal Kinsella can take credit for most of the work done with Ducky Mallon thus far as the gelding recorded his fifth career win for the owner/breeder/trainer at Leopardstown today, and followed up his recent win at the Curragh on August 7, when landing the idealgraphix.ie Handicap at the Dublin venue.
Veteran jockey Niall McCullagh was on board the son of Jeremy when they pair won ten days previously and today they again clicked, when scoring a length and a half win over Patuano
Kinsella later stated “he's been difficult enough with problems with his stomach but we think we have that sorted and he's going the way I want.
“I was surprised the price he was after the way he won in the Curragh last time.”
He added “Niall McCullagh said there wasn't much he could do with him as he was running away and hopefully now we'll get into the Bold Lad Handicap at the Curragh (on Champions Weekend in September) with him, that's the target.”
