Kelly's hero
Mullingar trainer Shane Kelly's My True Romance upset 8/15fav Mullicagh Lass to win the Midland Breeders Supporting Kilbeggan EBF Mares Hurdle at Kilbeggan today.
Ridden by Andrew McNamara, who earlier finished second in the opening race, My True Romance eventually wore down the front-running favourite to lead before the final flight, staying on for a three lengths win.
Afterwards Kelly reported "My True Romance had been
out of form this summer for some reason but deserved to win."
He added "the plan was to go to Roscommon (which has been abandoned) on Tuesday but we won't be going there now!"
