J'y Vole impresses in Red Mills
J'y Vole did what the market suggested (as big as 5/2 in the morning into 11/8) when she bolted up in the Grade 2 Red Mills Steeplechase by fifteen lengths under Paul Townend. The French-bred mare was completing a double for Townend and Willie Mullins, who earlier landed the handicap hurdle with Hampshire Express Siegemaster and Watson Lake were the pace-setters but they had no answer whatsoever to the sweet-travelling J'y Vole and she strode clear in really impressive style from before the last.
Mullins remarked: "On that performance she's improving. Paul gets on well with her and she'll probably go for the Ryanair Chase now."
Ladbrokes now go 25/1 (from 50s) for the Ryanair Chase.
This success marked Willie Mullins 101th winner of the campaign.
