It was all to play for coming to the second last in the the Bar One Racing ‘Price Boost All Favourites @Cheltenham@’ Beginners’ Chase as the market principals came to the fore.
Unfortunately for his supporters, Ujumpthelastuwin didn’t live up to his name as he clipped the top of that fence and all but fell giving Jonathan Moore no chance of staying on board.
That left the 6/4 favourite Jungle Junction with a clear advantage and Robbie Power’s mount wasn’t hard pressed to score by seven lengths from Brawler (9/2).
Placed on his two completed starts over fences, the Elusive Pimpernel gelding was getting off the mark at the fourth attempt over the larger obstacles.
Winning trainer Jessica Harrington said: "He’s going to be a nice horse when the spring ground comes and we’ll step him up to two and a half miles.
“Hopefully we can find a winners-of-one and then on to Punchestown.
“His problem early on in the year was that he didn’t settle. He’s probably grown up a bit and you have to settle on that ground.”
