The Mick Mulvany trained Jembatt claimed a sixth career success when landing the Value Cabs Handicap (DIV II) at Down Royal today, under jockey Chris Hayes.
The nine year old son of Captain Rio was previously successful at Tipperary in April 2014 and following today’s win Mulvany stated “he has been knocking on the door and been running well.
“Five is probably a bit short for him but you have to run him. The races are scarce for him in that category.
"We fancied him, we were confident that he was in good form. The handicapper has been very kind even though he has been giving him a few pounds for the last couple of runs. He is still well handicapped on his old form and hopefully now he won't be too hard on him.
"He never seemed to get a mile. He gets seven riding him that way but you never know where we might go. He wants nice ground."
