Father Jed (12/1) avoided the trouble spots to land the first split of the Xenon Security Handicap Hurdle for John Ryan and Tommy Brett at Gowran.
We lost Crack On Corrie at the first here, whilst Encore Lui came down two out, bringing down Ask David in the process. Mark Enright and Ryan Treacy, riders of Crack On Corrie and Ask David respectively, missed out on their rides in the next.
Up front the patiently ridden Father Jed came home strongest to see off Mill Forge and Global Fert by two lengths and two and a half lengths.
“He’s in great form at the moment and might go for another one of these and we can go for a beginners chase at some stage," said Ryan.
“He lost a good bit of time with an injury. We thought he preferred better ground but he handled that.”
R.A. Doyle, rider of Fourina trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered by two fallers and pulled up thereafter.
