The 'bargain buy' tag for the day at Navan today shifted from Lake Louise winner of the Nursery, to Jackemil under Ben Curtis, who landed her second race when taking the www.totegoracingclub.com Handicap.
Bought for just €2,100 as a yearling, €400 cheaper than Lake Louise, Jackemil added today's contest to her win at Listowel last month and winning trainer John Joe Walsh later stated “she was unlucky at Gowran, where she didn't get a clear run, and the ground was a bit fast for her the last day.
“She loves the mud and we may school her over hurdles and see if she'll jump, but she'll probably get a break for a while now.”
On course reporting by Alan Magee.
