Iron Major powers up the straight
Eddie Lynam's Iron Major came with a wet sail under Johnny Murtagh to deny Hot Sand by a neck in Dundalk's seven furlong handicap. The three-year-old gelding was returned at 12/1.
Trainer Lynam who was also represented by Arcadian Dream (partnered by Pat Smullen) said: "I didn't think there was much between the pair of them. Pat had the better draw on Arcadian Dream so I fancied him more." Sharp Steel was a short head back in third at 16/1. 4/1 favourite Winning Impact finished sixth.
