The Robert Tyner trained Irish Impulse followed up his recent chase win at Clonmel when reverting to flights to take the Follow Us On Facebook Handicap Hurdle at Tipperary.
Unplaced in nine previous starts prior to registering a first success last time, the six-year-old showed that he is a gelding on the upgrade by adding to that victory.
Despite dropping back from 2m5f to the minimum trip, the son of Pour Moi coped admirably with the task, leading at the final flight before keeping on to score by one-and-three-quarter lengths under Ryan Treacy.
Favourite Sceptred Isle had looked a big danger when arriving with a challenge at the second last but the market leader had no more to offer before the last.
Trainer Robert Tyner said: "It is coming together for him and he has got confidence after his win the last day. Driving through Mitchelstown today I was worried when I saw six inches of snow but when we got here, there wasn't as much and the ground was nice and wasn't deep.
"I thought he wouldn't have been good enough to win over hurdles with the way he had been running but, until this morning when the programme was updated, there was no chase race for him. I'll see what is coming up although the ground at Thurles might suit him for his next race."
