In Great Form defies top weight
In Great Form defied top weight to win the New Years Day 2012 at Fairyhouse Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse today for trainer Francis Flood and jockey Mark Walsh.
The son of Flemensfirth was patiently ridden by Walsh who produced the gelding with perfect timing to eventually record a three parts of a length win over Lusiad
Afterwards Flood’s son Fran Flood Jnr said “In Great Form jumped better today but he still nudged a few fences. He is a big heavy horse and needs somebody to pull him together and Mark suited him.
“He is no star but it was good to win with him and we’ll go for something similar maybe over three miles with him now.”
