Ken Condon's Ice Cold In Alex relished his first crack at the polytrack in Dundalk as he raced away with the five furlong nursery.
From stall nine, he travelled in rear before taking closer order at the two pole. Shane Foley switched him right a furlong and a half down and the pair began to motor home.
Ice Cold In Alex was ridden through a gap to chase down Hueston inside the final furlong before grabbing the lead with 150 yards to travel.
He galloped on to score by half a length at 10/1. Hueston hit the line second at 16/1. Blitz who was backed from 6/1 to 9/2, kept on for third a further length away. She was a neck in front of 5/2 favourite Evies Wish
"He’s a grand little horse,” Shane Foley said.
“He got stuck in the ground at Listowel the last day. I always knew Dundalk was probably going to be his thing.
“I thought running over five tonight would be a case of him having a look around and seeing but they went hard and it fell his way.
“They’ll have a bit of fun with him over the winter.”
A tongue tie was fitted on Ice Cold In Alex for the first time this evening.
