House Rules in the last at Listowel
House Rules took the last race of the day at Listowel, the John B.Keane Maiden Hurdle for jockey Ruby Walsh and trainer Henry De Bromhead at the odds of 8/15fav.
This contest looked like a one horse race on paper and so it proved to be with the 5yo son of Overbury coming home a twelve length winner from his nearest market rival Khayar back in second.
This was the winners fourth start over hurdles having being placed on his last two efforts finishing third to Hidden Universe at Leopardstown over Christmas before finishing second when attempting to make all at Punchestown on his last start.
The gelding was completing the pattern that developed in his form by winning here and his trainer Henry De Bromhead said afterwards: "I'm delighted with that. Ruby was pleased with him and he said he would be better in a faster run race.
"He will be campaigned over the summer now in novice company."
