Hints Best in Clanwilliam
Hintsnallegations having his second outing for Mick Murphy, sprung a 25/1 surprise in the Clanwilliam Novice Hurdle.
After the win of Prunelle De L'Orme at 33/1 in a similar event at the last meeting here, this was another result for the books in an event where they bet 10/1 bar two. The Ginger Man (5/2 into 7/4) was the one for money and he was a bit unlucky in finishing a two length runner-up.
Tom Doyle rode the winner who hit the front entering the straight.
Mick Murphy said: "That'll be a boost for the owner, Padraigh O'Connor, who is sick with leukaemia. We couldn't get this horse into a maiden with the balloting. He stays all day and he'll get three miles no problem."
