Her Courtesy Gains Deserved Tramore Win
His brother Seamus has been in the winner's enclosure more than once lately but Jarlath Fahey described the win of Her Courtesy in the Snowcream Fresh Milk Handicap as "badly overdue." Michael Cleere made a lot of the running on the daughter of Fath, and he found a willing partner up the hill to fend off all challengers, headed by Compton Court by two lengths.
Her Courtesy has a good course record here, runner-up and third at Graun Hill before, and that fact wasn't lost on those who backed her from eights in the morning and 5/1 into 4/1 on track.
Fahey said, "Mickey gave her a great ride, the plan wasn't to make it but he went on when nothing else wanted to. She was fairly consistent last year and is very tough. She is in again here on Saturday but is down the ballot to get in and we'll see how she is after this. She is owned by Denis Coakley, who also has Rossgavand, twice a winner this year."
Cleere had looked certain to score in the previous event on Dr Zing until her stamina ebbed away, so this came as compensation. Her Courtesy was bred by Mick Channon Bloodstock Ltd. (EM)
