Johnny Feane sent out his second winner with just his fifth runner when Strategic Heights made all under Pat Smullen in the Love Racing, Love Dundalk Stadium Handicap.
The five-year-old Strategic Prince gelding was shedding his maiden tag here on attempt number fourteen. He was having his second outing for his Hazelwood Stables, the Curragh, handler, in this sprint event.
Five weeks ago, Strategic Heights, who is also owned by Feane, finished runner-up in a similar event behind Catwilldo
The Feane runner was 2/1 favourite to reverse the form on this occasion and he ended up comfortably defeating Catwilldo, by two and three parts of a length.
Smullen also rode the initial winner for Feane, Prince Connoisseur, at this venue, three weeks back.
"Pat was delighted with him. He won it at the gates really – he pinged out.
"He came on well from his last run and we'll see what the handicapper does," disclosed Feane. (AM & EM)
