Heart to provide fitting farewell to Goulding
Heartansoul will provide a fitting, if poignant, farewell to the late Philip Goulding when she runs in the 7.20pm at Cork this evening.
Trainer Philip Goulding died tragically on Wednesday following a reoccurrence of Leukaemia, an illness he had battled with more than eight years ago.
The 31-year-old Co. Waterford trainer had wished for Heartansoul to contest this race which she won 12 months ago and his family have gained permission from the Turf Club for the horse to run.
Racing enthusiasts will best remember Goulding for his handling of Fivestar Allstars which won six race under his care.
Philip’s funeral takes place tomorrow in Tallow Co. Waterford
