Jockey Chris Hayes completed a double at Dundalk this evening when steering the Eddie Lynam trained Armed Guard to win the Happy New Year To All Our Patrons Handicap at Dundalk this evening.
The winner was produced with a well timed challenge to eventually defeat Juara by a length and a half.
Lynam later stated “it's nice to get a winner on the first meeting of the year.
“He is what he is he but is also a very popular horse in the yard as he's a great ride. He does two jobs: he's a lead horse during the week and runs on Friday and that'll help to keep the owner (wife Aileen) happy!”
