Harley at his best
Martin Harley was seen to good effect when winning the Joe Feane Lifetime Achievement In Racing Handicap aboard the Liam McAteer trained That’s A Fret.
Harley who was never too far off the pace came with a well timed run to lead close home for a narrow win over Tsar Paul and Pat Smullen.
A delighted McAteer said afterwards: “It was grand to get a win coming up to Galway.”
“I think claiming the five pounds off was vital to him. I told Martin [Harley] to sit behind the leaders and hold on to him for as long as he could.”
“I’m thrilled to bits he won and Martin was on good him. Martin is a family friend and he’s a very good rider and I’m delighted for him.”
“We’ll bring him to Galway now for something over seven furlongs.”
