The 4yo Harangue got his trainer John 'Shark' Hanlon off the cold list (last winner May 5th) as he easily took division two of the Ladies Day At Sligo 9th August Handicap Hurdle.
The son of Street Cry made all and had a clear advantage after the fifth last hurdle.
He lead was slightly reduced three out but he was ridden to assert before the second last by his jockey Danny Mullins and he kept on strongly from before the last to win by nine and a half lengths at the odds of 9/1.
The Norman Cassidy trained Red Seven finished second at 14/1 under Ben Dalton while Fitzgutentyte was a further length and a half back in third at 6/1 under Robbie Power on her first start of Colm Murphy.
The 4/1 favourite Muskatsturm could only manage seventh under Keith Donoghue.
Winning trainer John Hanlon said afterwards: "That's the first time he has got half decent ground and the better ground improved him. Like most of mine they all want good ground.
"He is entered in Killarney next week and he will run there if the weather picks up."
