Apprentice jockey Gary Halpin registered his fifth winner in a week when steering Beechmount Whisper to win the 188BET.co.uk Handicap at Gowran today.
The win was also Halpin's second in as many days for Beechmount Whisper's trainer Patrick Prendergast, who yesterday described Halpin's 5lbs claim as being “almost free”, having steered his Canary Row to win at Limerick.
Following today's win, Beechmount Whisper's form figures now read '3223233-211' and Prendergast later stated “it's funny that when they get their head in front they can go and do it again.
“Gary said he's better on that ground and he also jumps a hurdle very well. As you can see he's a big horse, and that will be his game down the line. He's big enough to jump a fence."
