Ottelo Finetto's colours have been a feature of John Murphy runners for many years and the Swedish man who resides in France has a nice prospect on his hands in the shape of Gossamer Seed odds-on winner of the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Race at Cork.
Ben Curtis went back to the head of the apprentice championship when getting the successful grey daughter of Choisir home by a length from the gallant front-runner The Munster Maori Gossamer Seed had to work for the win, vindicating the promise she displayed at Tipperary when second 71 days back.
Murphy said: "We've always thought a lot of her and she could be anything. We'll leave her off now until the spring and then step her up in distance."
