Odds of 1/4 said Gordon Lord Byron would have it easy in the www.dundalkstadium.com Race and it was impossible not to be impressed with his win under Wayne Lordan (double after his win on Super Sling in the six furlong contest.
This was just a three runner affair after Burn The Boats (will have to be re-certified before running from stalls again) refused to load and had to be withdrawn.
Lordan sat in last of the three on Tom Hogan's stable star and he showed his class inside the last to quicken past Clancy Avenue and Battleroftheboyne to triumph by three and a quarter lengths and two and three parts of a length.
Hogan said: "He needed an outing like that as he's got lazier.
"Wayne had to give him a slap but that will bring him on for Dubai.
"This year it would have been hard to go to Dubai without a run first.
"He'll go for the Golden Shaheen now, a six furlong race on the tapeta.
"We'll go anywhere that we get invited to." (MG & EM)
