The Ribblesdale Stakes success for Curvy during the week continued a fine season for David Wachman, and he was on the mark again as Gussy Goose took the Gowran Park Racing Club Membership From 100 Euro Maiden.
The Co. Tipperary handler was doubly represented in this seven-furlong event, and the morning price market indicated that the J P McManus-owned filly was well fancied while stablemate Black Wolf Run was easier to back. Enough Is Enough set a strong pace but was hauled in well over a furlong out by both Frozen Lake and Gussy Goose.
The Fran Berry-ridden 3/1 chance (11/2 this morning), runner-up in three of her previous six outings, got well on top inside the closing 150 yards to beat the 2/1 favourite by three lengths.
Black Wolf Run was a further two lengths back in third ahead of newcomers Intisari and Malinka who both showed promise.
J P McManus' racing manager Frank Berry said, "It was nice for her to get her turn and she liked the ground and trip.
"The bit of experience was a help and she had a nice tow into the race and found enough in the closing stages."
